In her debut at the tender age of 13, Valerie Teo became Singapore's youngest bowling talent to clinch a silver and a bronze medal at the 1999 Brunei 20 th SEA Games.
At the Asian FIQ championship 2002, the heavy –ball hook bowler brought glory to Singapore by winning three silver in the singles, double and trios.
Her laudable performance and steady form continued in her old medal win at both the Singapore International Open and the Singapore Nationals. At the 14th Asian Games, Valeria finished 6th position in a playing field of 49 Asia 's top Keglers.
On and off the lane, the Raffles Junior College student exudes a sense of maturity and confidence beyond her years. Currently ranked 7th in Asia, Valerie has proven that studies and sports can be balanced as long as one remains disciplined and focused.
A well-rounded athlete, Valerie's exemplary showing on and off the bowling lanes has made her the undisputed winner for the Sportsgirl of the Year Award.
