Last year was a fruitful one for Elizabeth Yin.

The Laser Radial sailor, already a double world champion in the Byte (2006) and Laser 4.7 (2008) classes, became the first female Singaporean to win the Volvo Youth sailing ISAF World Championship in July.

Despite taking a break for her ‘A’ Level examinations after that, she returned to competition in peak form by coming up tops at the Australian Laser National Championships.

For now, 18years old Elizabeth is training hard to improve her skills in order o attain her dream – to compete in the Laser Radial event at the London 2012 Olympics.

Her commitment, consistency and vision make her an inspiration for other young athletes.
