Siew Shaw Her and Colin Ng were a class of their own in their doubles act in the International 420 Class in sailing. The pair established themselves as a formidable team when they won the gold medal at the 13th Asian Games in Thailand in 1998.

Shaw Her in particular had paired with many other equally able partners in winning gold medals for Singapore , especially in the SEA Games from 1983 to 1997. In all, he has amassed seven golds and a silver medal. The height of his achievement was the gold medal performance with Colin Ng at the 1998 Asian Games for which he was crowned the Best Sportsman and also won the Best Team Award with his partner Colin Ng.

Colin, though not as experienced as Shaw Her, has done comparatively well in his representation for Singapore . He had won the 1997 SEA Games gold medal in the International 420 partnering Khor Teck Lin.
