Sam Goh Heng Soon and Patrick Wee Chin Hock won the second ever world duos silver medal for Singapore at the XIth FIQ World Tenpin Bowling Championships at Helsinki in 1986. Their performance was highly commendable, as they had to fight for every pin against 113 teams from 44 countries.

In addition, Sam came in seventh in the men's Masters even though this was his first world competition. As for Patrick, he had only just returned to the lanes after a seven-month break. Both were in good striking form.
